1. Who we are
HerdGuard (“HerdGuard,” “we,” or “us”) is a product of NightVyper LLC. NightVyper LLC develops and operates the HerdGuard platform. You can reach us at founder@herdguard.co.
2. Scope of this policy
This policy explains the limited information collected through this website (https://herdguard.com), through any contact or pilot inquiry form, and through future HerdGuard pilot deployments. It applies to information you submit voluntarily and to limited technical data we receive when you use the site.
This policy is informational and does not create a contract or warranty. See our Terms & Disclaimer for additional context.
3. Information you submit through this website
When you contact us through the website, you may provide:
- Contact form fields: name, email address, interest type, and the message you choose to send.
- Optional fields: farm or organization name, state/region, phone number, and property type.
- Farm or property inquiry information: any additional details you voluntarily share about your property, zones, current cameras, species of concern, or pilot interest.
We collect only what you submit. We do not request government IDs, payment information, or sensitive personal data through this website.
4. Technical and operational data
To operate the website and prevent abuse, we may receive:
- IP address and request headers for the contact API, used for rate limiting and abuse prevention.
- Request timestamps and user-agent strings, recorded with each contact submission for audit purposes.
- Standard server logs generated by our hosting provider in the normal course of operating a public website.
5. Analytics
We do not currently use website analytics, tracking pixels, third-party advertising tags, or behavioral cookies. We do not use reCAPTCHA.
If we add analytics in the future, we plan to use a privacy-conscious solution (for example, an aggregated, cookie-light analytics provider) that does not track individuals across sites and does not sell or share visitor data with advertisers. We will update this policy before turning any such analytics on.
6. Information collected from future pilot deployments
HerdGuard is in early development. Future pilot deployments that integrate internet-connected farm cameras with the HerdGuard platform may process information such as:
- Camera, site, and zone metadata supplied by the operator.
- Image references and timestamps for captured still images.
- Detection metadata, including labels and confidence scores produced by the vision pipeline.
- Alert decisions and alert delivery status.
- Human review and correction data submitted by operators or their designated reviewers.
- Account and contact information used to administer your pilot deployment.
Pilot terms — including data ownership, retention, dataset participation, and consent for model training — are agreed in writing as part of each pilot engagement. Nothing in this website binds anyone to a pilot.
7. How we use information
We use information collected through this website and any pilot deployment to:
- Respond to inquiries and support requests.
- Evaluate fit for an early pilot and coordinate pilot logistics.
- Operate, monitor, secure, and improve the HerdGuard platform and detection workflows.
- Develop and validate detection workflows and alert rules.
- Prevent abuse, fraud, and unauthorized access to the website and platform.
- Comply with applicable laws and respond to lawful requests.
8. We do not sell personal information
NightVyper LLC does not sell personal information. We do not share personal information with third parties for their own advertising or marketing purposes.
9. Service providers
We use a small number of providers to host the website, deliver email, and run cloud-assisted image analysis. These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and security commitments. We do not grant providers the right to use your data for their own advertising. We work to limit the data each provider receives to what is needed for the task at hand.
10. Data retention
Contact submissions are retained for as long as needed to respond, to maintain a record of communications, and to defend our legal rights. Pilot data retention is governed by each individual pilot agreement. You may request deletion at any time by emailing founder@herdguard.co.
11. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect information, including transport-layer encryption (HTTPS), server-side validation, anti-abuse rate limiting, and limited access to backend systems.
No system can be guaranteed perfectly secure. Please do not submit sensitive personal information (such as government IDs, financial account numbers, or health information) through the contact form.
12. Your choices
You may at any time:
- Ask us what information we hold about you in connection with this website or a pilot deployment.
- Request correction or deletion of that information.
- Withdraw consent for any optional dataset participation under a pilot agreement, on a forward-looking basis.
Send requests to founder@herdguard.co. We will respond within a reasonable period.
13. Children
This website and platform are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
14. International users
NightVyper LLC is based in the United States. If you contact us from outside the United States, you understand that information you submit will be processed in the United States and other jurisdictions where our service providers operate.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the platform evolves. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will reflect any material changes. Continued use of the site after a change is posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
